Safe Walking near Roads

We have been learning to
be safe around the road.

Mrs Lelieveld, Constable Amy and some of our
wonderful Knighton School road patrollers
helped us to cross the road safely.

We learnt how to cross the road from grass verge to grass verge.

We also crossed the road where there were traffic lights.

When we crossed the road we looked both ways.

We 'linked' our hands as we crossed the road.

At driveways we stopped and looked for cars coming out
or going into driveways, and then kept walking.

At sneaky driveways we carefully looked for cars
that were hidden behind fences or bushes,
and we listened for cars too.

Thank you, Constable Amy, Mrs Lelieveld and the
Knighton School Road Patrollers for all your help.

Remember to:

Stop, Look and Listen
Before you cross the street
Use your eyes, use your ears
Before you use your feet.
