Breakfast!!!! Ice Cream.

The School Kit Squad and DairyNZ sent us a kit to make ice cream in class.  Not just any ice cream though, BREAKFAST ice cream.

We got sent the recipe, lots of possible flavours for our ice cream, and a voucher for the cream, milk and ice.
Thank you School Kit Squad and DairyNZ!

We added salt to the ice to make it
even colder!
Then we had to shake, shake, shake,
until the cream changed into ice cream.
The cold molecules in the ice made the
warm molecules in the cream cold.
We weren't very keen on the Baked Bean and Weet-Bix ice cream.

The pineapple chunk and strawberry flavour was nice.

The honey ice cream was so yummy.

The marmite was nice but we wouldn't eat a big bowl of it.

We also made some ice cream with fresh strawberries.
Thank you Iziah, and your aunty who gave them to you.
This was the BEST ice cream,
for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

What super fun we had in week 7
making ice cream.

Measurement

We are learning that not all things are
the same size.
Like the 3 bears, some things are
big, middle size, and small
or big, bigger, and biggest
or small, medium, and large.

First we compared two different sizes.
We had to make two things the same,
but one bigger than the other.
We also had to use all the play dough
we were given.

Aren't we clever!

Next we had to make three things that were the same.
BUT they had to be different sizes.
AND we had to use all our play dough.

What super duper mathematicians we are!

Pohutukawa Art

Mrs Roots came to spend the day with us.  She showed us how to produce beautiful pohutukawa flower art.

Aren't they super!
Thank you Mrs Roots.
